Whiteman Park is located in Western Australia, just 30-minutes from the Perth city... or 18 kilometres north-east of the city as the wedge-tailed eagle flies.

Getting here is easier than ever.

Whiteman Park is serviced by an excellent road network, making private vehicles the best option to enjoy a day out here.

You can also travel by public transport, making use of the Ellenbrook train line to get to the Whiteman Park Station. This option is best utilised on weekends, when the Whiteman Park Shuttle and Heritage Tram Ride offer visitors a relaxed journey into the heart of the Park should you want to avoid the 2-kilometre walk.

Driving

Take Lord Street from the CBD – this turns into Guildford Road. At Tonkin Highway, turn right to join the highway northbound.

Take the Hepburn Avenue exit, then follow the tourist signs to Whiteman Park (take a right around the roundabout underpass, which takes you back on to Beechboro Road North). The Whiteman Park entrance is approximately 500m south of the turn-off.

Take Canning Highway, Great Eastern Highway or Leach Highway, heading north-east until you reach the Tonkin Highway intersection. Turn left onto Tonkin Highway towards Midland and continue north.

Take Mitchell Freeway or Wanneroo Road south bound, then turn east onto Ocean Reef Road, towards Ellenbrook. Continue on to Gnangara Road. Follow this until you reach Drumpellier Drive and turn south, heading towards Perth.

Turn onto Whiteman Drive East, following the brown tourist signage towards Whiteman Park and. Continue past the train station car park and into the Park.

There is a taxi rank adjacent to the Visitor Information Centre that is used as the standard drop off and pick up point for those utilising taxi services or rideshares.

The taxi rank's location allows for easy pedestrian access to all major attractions and the Village picnic areas.

public transport

The Ellenbrook line allows you to travel from Perth to Whiteman Park Station, at our eastern entrance, in just 25 minutes!

The Whiteman Park Station is located 350m from the Park's entrance, before a 30-minute walk through open paddocks and bushland to the main attractions in the Village.

There are two ways to enter the Park, depending on what day and time you are visiting.
  1. You can walk to the Village and Caversham Wildlife Park from the Drumpellier Drive entrance, via a two (2) kilometre signposted pathway. On average, this will take most visitors about half an hour. The Path Network map shows the location of the path in relation to the road and Drumpellier Drive entrance.

    We do not recommend walking on the road, as there is no adjacent path, hence posing a danger to pedestrians. If walking, please use the separate, marked pathway through the open fields for your safety. Shelters are located along the length of the path, should you encounter some inclement weather.

  2. Alternatively, on their operating days, you can catch a Heritage Tram Ride from the new tram stop just outside the Whiteman Park Station. This service has limited operating hours making weekends the best time to visit. See the Transperth Connection page for details on their operating days and times to the train station.
