Gould's hooded snake
Parasuta gouldii

The Gould’s hooded snake is one of our smaller snake species, growing to just 30cm in length. Like most of the Park's snake species, they are venomous, but their small size means they are less of a threat to people.

This species is nocturnal, hunting at night for sleeping lizards to feed on.

They have a distinctive black markings on the top of their heads, and range from orange-brown to red-brown in colour.
