Canopy trees are crucial within the Park’s ecosystems as they provide sustenance and habitat for numerous bird, mammal and insect species, either within their living leaves and branches, or in the hollows that form after the heartwood of their branches rots away.

The tree canopy at the Park is spectacular and is comprised of a number of species including banksias, eucalypts and melaluecas.
Whiteman Park acknowledges the Wadjuk Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, learn and play and acknowledge the significance of Korndiny Karla Boodja (Bennett Brook) at the heart of the Park.
